Coordinate bonds are indicated by an arrow. Direction of it shows which atom donated the electron pair to the bond, and which ato accepted the electron pair.

Transition metals can contain complex ions
These ions contain Coordinate bonding which hold together the central cation with the surround atoms / groups of atoms called ligands (an ion or molecule attached to a metal atom by coordinate bonding )
